Murdoch University R&D Greenhouse: Perth, Australia
Construction of ClearVue’s world-first clear solar glass greenhouse is now complete.
The greenhouse was officially opened at 1pm WST on 19 April 2021 by WA Innovation Minister Mr Don Punch, Federal Member for Cowan Dr Anne Aly, along with Murdoch University Vice Chancellor Professor Eeva Leinonen, Murdoch Pro Vice Chancellor (Food Futures Institute) Professor Peter Davies and ClearVue Technologies Executive Chairman Victor Rosenberg.
Partially funded by a AUD$1.6 million grant from the Australian Federal Government’s AusIndustry Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) program and built by Ryan Winston of blanc. Construction, the greenhouse incorporates a range of sensors that record and present an array of data in real time, providing scientists with accurate information relating to conditions like temperature, humidity and the actual amount of light that plants are receiving.
Plant trials will now be undertaken by Professor Chengdao Li of Murdoch University and the UN Food Security Council, which will be peer-reviewed and published in the future.
Thank you to all those involved in its construction and who have supported ClearVue throughout this significant milestone project.
