Sydney, 1 May 2025 – Innovative solar technology is taking to the skies—ClearVue Technologies has landed its first high-rise gig, supplying building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) glass for the rooftop of the City Tattersalls Club redevelopment in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
As part of a major $308 million makeover of the historic club, ClearVue will deliver its solar feature glass to the rooftop terrace spanning the 44th to 50th floors. The install is part of a $600,000 roof section being handled by SRG Global, on behalf of Richard Crookes Constructions.
This is ClearVue’s first project on a tower of this scale, and the company’s solar glazing will be a key element in helping the development hit a 6 Star NABERS rating—a critical benchmark in today’s push for high-performance, sustainable buildings.
“We’re excited to bring our solar glass tech to such an iconic Sydney project. It’s not just about energy—it's about combining sustainability with design, and giving architects the tools to meet both.”
Martin Deil, Global CEO
The solar glass won’t just generate clean power—it also looks the part. Designed in a sleek pure black finish, the glazing blends seamlessly with non-solar elements of the façade, offering visual consistency without sacrificing function.
“From an execution perspective, ClearVue’s glass ticked all the boxes. It met performance targets while keeping the architects happy with the look and feel—no compromises on aesthetics or sustainability.”
Sayeed Ansari, Project Manager at SRG Global
The City Tattersalls Club revamp is a showcase of how modern construction is integrating advanced materials to meet tough environmental goals, all while delivering on design intent. For the industry, it’s a strong example of where solar building materials are heading—and how they’re starting to become a real tool in the specifier’s kit.
